Laughter is half of health! The other half are your habits and quality of your life. (Slovenian saying)

I love simple everyday life things that fulfil my soul. Wonderful good mornings with fair coffee, walks in nature, shopping at a local market, hanging out with friends, sincere smiles and discovering new inspiring stories.

The love for fashion and clothing design has began at my early age. I was impressed by my grandma Maria and aunt Nevenka, both of whom worked in the famous textile factory Ideal, and later in Meblo Jogi and Almira Radovljica. However, like all other stories related to the textile industry in Slovenia, this story was also a sad story and the industry collapsed.

After I finished high school I decided to came to study in Maribor and I apply to Textile Design Technologies. During my study, I began to be interested of a more fair and sustainable fashion. Currently I live and work in Maribor and I’m also very active in various NGO’s in the city. In this five years of volunteering, I have learned a lot about how important it is to keep this feeling for fellow humans and nature in everyday life.

Because of all of this experiences I also decided to start a new way of living with less waste, more locally produced food and supporting fair trade. I started to support ecological and sustainable shops and other good practices. I think that with the purchases that we do every day and our habits, nobody should suffer, especially those who have less power over what is happening.

As a child, I was very connected with the nature. I grew up in Šempeter near Nova Gorica, in a small hamlet called Bazara. Our valley is predominantly surrounded by forest, in which I also spent most of my childhood. We climbed the trees and built "small houses" on them, dug ditches on the ground, tie up the arcs and cut the arrows.

Life in general was also very closely related to nature in my home town. We followed nature cycles. In the spring and summer, we were producing seasoned vegetables, picking the fruits, mowed grass, and later we prepare everything for the winter. All this I later started to miss when I came to the city. This connection with nature, home-made food and peace, which the surrounding area gives you. This meant a home for me, and I still see it in this form.

I adjusted my life in the city in the way we were living at home and added some positive practices which turned out to be very useful. Every day I try to minimize waste; I buy vegetables, fruits and meat at the markets that are present every in the city; I plan responsible purchases and purposefully buy goods by making sure that products are produced from ecologically and socially responsible production. With doing all this things I support the social economy and maintain profit at the local level.
